FlipFlop Bracelets
From overlooked to exquisite, from old debris to high fashion, FlipFlop bracelets are endowed with a mesmerizing narrative. For centuries, the Bozo people have depended on the river's fish to provide a living, but the fish population has dwindled, jeopardizing their way of life. What washed up was Africa's national shoes: flip-flops. The resourceful fishing-tribe-women ingeniously converted these typically disposable materials into stunning jewelry pieces, offering an alternative source of sustenance for their households. This profitable effort currently aids 80 families, once again demonstrating the might of resilience and ingenuity. Our waterproof, cheerful, striped accessories make the ideal gift; they embody faith, determination, and artistry. These Bozo-women allowed each object to be a tribute to their unrelenting courage and to the brilliance of their craft, hand-crafted in Mali with flip-flops (that blossom the river).
